Coach Olivia Hunter

Head Coach Olivia Hunter

Bruce and Olivia are both USA Track & Field (USATF) Level 1 certified (Qualified to coach at the high school and college level) and joins our Severn Family bringing with them more than 39 years of coaching experience in a variety of sports to include basketball, baseball, soccer and track & field.  They have spent the last 22 years serving as coaches for the Fort Meade Highsteppers Track Club, but have now joined forces with us to better serve the communities throughout our surrounding area. Together, they've become a dynamic duo sharing their knowledge with coaches and runners alike.  They have coached just about every event that can be coached and have consistently sent 25 - 40 competitors on to compete in the annual AAU Junior Olympics National Championships with many placing in the top eight of their individual events.

Bruce and Olivia's primary focus is the safe development of each athlete.  They accomplish this goal by properly assessing the athletes talent, then placing them in events appropriate to their skill level, emphasizing mastery of event fundamentals.  Athletes are then exposed to competition which will provide them with success experiences that will enhance self-esteem and self-confidence.  We welcome them to our family with open arms and look forward to working with them to provide a quality program for our community.
